The Parachute Factory is celebrating two years as northern New Mexico’s leading makerspace, with workshops, community events, and discussions on the future of maker culture. Join us from Halloween through Dia de los Muertos, with a dynamic community of makers, fixers and hackers. Parachute Factory founder, Mariano Ulibarri, will be leading the weekend with his experienced crew. Bring your experiences & skills to share, learn something new, join our community events, and help us celebrate three years of making in the mountains of New Mexico.
We will be kicking things off on Friday with a very special Halloween installment of Parachute Factory’s FIXIT Friday – an event where locals bring in broken items to be repaired by Parachute Factory FIXIT volunteers.
On Saturday participants will have several workshops and lectures to choose from including:
- 3D Printing and Scanning
- Intro to Arduino
- Laser Cutting Primer
- Which Microcontroller for What Project?
- CAD Design for Absolute Beginners
- Storefront Lecture Series: The Role of a Community Makerspace
To close things out on Sunday we will be hosting our third annual DIA de DIY event. Participants will take part in Parachute Factory’s biggest community event to date! This multi-generational day of making celebrates the start of Parachute Factory’s third year as a community makerspace. We will be sharing some of our very best workshops and projects from the past two years with the Las Vegas, NM community. There will be 3D printing, laser cutting, drones, sewing, printmaking, and more!
