Join the Parachute Factory crew this Friday & Saturday (11/20 & 11/21) for two FREE community makerspace events!
First up is FIXIT Friday: Bring in your broken stuff & connect with our awesome crew of FIXIT Volunteers to get help diagnosing & fixing what might otherwise end up in the garbage. FIXIT Friday is hosted by Parachute Factory and our local chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA 1063). Over the last two years our crew has revived countless broken things – from lamps to tape decks, garden gnomes to vacuum cleaners, laptops to toys, and much, much more!
This month’s FIXIT Friday happens Nov. 20, 2015 from 5:00-7:30pm. Bring your broken stuff & a willingness to help others!
Next up is Meadow City Makers // POP-UP #001: Meadow City Makers is a new monthly makerspace program for lil’ Las Vegas youth. Our kiddos will work to build skills in science / technology / engineering / art / and math through hands-on workshops and self-directed projects at our storefront lab.
Meadow City Makers // POP-UP #001 will introduce the basics of machine & hand sewing, along with some 3D printing and simple circuitry. Participants will design & make fabric parachutes and trick them out with custom 3D printed payloads & electronic contraptions. Making parachutes at the Parachute Factory!
Meadow City Makers // POP-UP #001 happens Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 from 10:00am-12:00pm. The program is FREE, but space and supplies are limited! RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
